I was listening to one of my favorite bands, The Afters and I always skip to my favorite song by them before I listen. My favorite song is "Light Up the Sky". I had planned to write about this song but decided to be more spontaneous today. So I picked up my Bible and opened it up to a random verse. This is what I come to; Mathew 6:9-13.
9 "This, then, is how you should pray:
"'Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
From here I started thinking. This is great. When I pray I don't have to list off, like I usually do. I can say this simple prayer and God will already know exactly what I am praying for and who I am praying for. Then I started thinking, did this verse come up because God is tired of trying to keep up with everything I say? Tired of listening through my list? Probably not, but this makes life easier on the both of us.
Even though I wasn't going to talk much about the song I listed above, here it is.
